XML/XSLT Developer (all Levels)

Responsibilities

Some of your initial responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and customize Ictect software for unique customer needs.
  • Develop XSD Schemas and XSLT stylesheets for XML files.
  • Identify Regular Expressions for helping parse XML files.
  • Work with OpenXML and WordML to develop cutting-edge content solutions.
  • Customize and extend standard content models including JATS, DITA, and BITS, among others.
  • Coordinate your work with the SW Development and QA Team.

Desired Qualities

  1. Passion for content architecture, which includes grammar, sentence structure, machine readability, formatting, semantics, parsing and markup.
  2. Proficiency in XML and related standards including XSLT, XPath, XForms, XSD, DTDs, OpenXML and WordML.
  3. Experience in working with XML authoring and validating tools such as oXygen and XMLSpy.
  4. Basic understanding of programming languages such as C#, C++, and VB.
  5. Comfort within the Microsoft ecosystem, including Windows 10, Office 365, OneDrive, Dynamics, Teams, Project, and Planner.
  6. Ability to thrive in both in a team and on your own.

Copyeditor

Ictect, the intelligent content company, has an excellent opportunity for a Copy Editor to work closely on various editing projects for US clients. This is a long-term opportunity offering you significant growth and exposure with the company. The details are as follows:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Copyediting, language editing (English), proof-reading, fact checking and content re-writing.
  • Fix grammatical, punctuation and spelling errors.
  • Double check that names, places and organizations are spelled properly, and facts, dates and statistics are accurate, by contacting writers' sources and conducting online research.
  • Ensure that articles are written in accordance with the style guide and predefined writing standards and guidelines.
  • Check text to ensure it is well written and logically structured.
  • Check illustrations and captions for quality, relevance and correctness.
  • Other responsibilities as appropriate from time to time.

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Proficient in Copyediting, language editing (English), proof-reading, fact checking and content re-writing.
  • Experience in Copy Editing using different style guides like Chicago Style Guide, AP Style Guide, etc.
  • Exposure of working on editorial support assignments from US publishers, GPO, Federal Agencies, etc.
  • Excellent written English, including good spelling and grammar.
  • A meticulous approach to work and an eye for detail.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
