Human Resource Manager (Full-time/Part-time)

Ictect is a software company with office in Burlington, WI. We develop specialized Intelligent Content software for federal agencies and commercial customers. For more information, please see https://www.ictect.com/about-us.

Ictect is seeking an HR Manager. We are a small technology company and would like a candidate who with well-rounded experience in business. In addition to HR, experience in either Marketing, Finance, and/or Administration would be preferred. This is position that will require onsite work in Burlington at least two days per week. We would prefer a full-time candidate but are open to part-time. If you have run your own business or if you have been a general manager in any type of small business, this may be an ideal position for you.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  • Maintains the HR/Careers section of the company website.
  • Oversees the implementation of an HR Information System such as Microsoft Dynamics for Human Resources.
  • Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees and freelance contractors to fill vacant positions.
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation, fostering positive attitudes toward our company goals.
  • Keeps records of benefit plan participation, such as insurance and pension plans, personnel transactions, including hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
  • Works with management on interviewing, hiring, promoting, terminating, reviewing performance, safety, and sexual harassment.
  • Works with our partner organizations to recruit for open and contingent positions for specific contracts.
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Administers a performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organization.
  • Administers a salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within organization.
  • Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental, and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
  • Investigates accidents and prepares reports for the insurance carrier.
  • Develops job descriptions and career growth plans within various positions of the organization. When appropriate, utilizes Intelligent Content methodology in developing documents.
  • Conducts wage surveys within the labor market to determine competitive wage rates.
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.

Qualification and Experience

  • 5+ years experience in business management including finance, human resources or marketing.
  • Associates degree human resources or PHR, SHRM-CP certification preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Passion for learning, this individual will wear many hats within our business.
  • Strong work ethic.

Technical Writer

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in creating clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation for our products. This role requires close collaboration with product managers, developers, and engineers to ensure that our documentation meets the highest standards of quality and usability. Responsibilities

  1. Documentation Creation:
    • Develop, write, and maintain high-quality documentation, including user guides, API documentation, tutorials, and online help.
    • Ensure that documentation is clear, concise, and accessible to a wide audience, including both technical and non-technical users.
  2. Collaboration:
    • Work closely with product managers, developers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather information and understand the product’s functionality and requirements.
    • Participate in product development meetings to stay updated on new features and changes.
  3. Content Management:
    • Organize and manage documentation repositories and ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and accurately reflects the current state of the product.
    • Implement and maintain documentation standards and best practices.
  4. User Experience:
    • Conduct user research and gather feedback to continuously improve the quality and usability of documentation.
    • Create multimedia content (e.g., videos, screenshots, diagrams) to enhance the user experience.
  5. Technical Accuracy:
    • Review and edit content created by other team members to ensure technical accuracy and consistency.
    • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in technical writing and content development.

Desired Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in a content-based product development environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proficiency in using documentation tools such as MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, or similar.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and content management systems (CMS).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
